Ecologies of Care gathering 2025, Porto
Workshop How can we visualize Air?
Inês Moreira hosted the 2025 Ecologies of Care network gathering in Porto, during which the RefineryBoard collective organized a one-day workshop around “questions of air”. The workshop proposed a collective exploration of atmospheric and environmental issues related to air, addressing both its sensory and political dimensions. The activity was preceded by a morning run along the coastline in front of the refinery, creating an experiential context for the discussion.
Methodology:
– Coastal run (sensory and geographical experience)
– Presentation of the “Air Questions Menu”
– Open and dynamic group discussion based on the proposed questions

OUT OF THE BLUE, Matosinhos 2024
The Big Tour: A Three-Dimensional Look at Matosinhos' Waterfront
At the invitation of the OUT OF THE BLUE event, focused on Atlantic products and fine dining, Refinery Board orchestrated "The Big Tour: A Three-Dimensional Look at Matosinhos' Waterfront," exploring the diversity and contrasts along Matosinhos' coastline.
The tour followed a three-dimensional approach, encompassing the following dimensions:
Systemic and Global Dimension: Analyzing the interactions between the various elements that make up the coastal landscape and infrastructure.
Ecological and Local Dimension: Observing the ecosystems, biodiversity, and environmental impacts along the coast.
Leisure and Future Dimension: Reflecting on the recreational use of the area and the prospects for its sustainable development.
It offered an integrated view of Matosinhos' "Black Coast," combining historical heritage, modern infrastructures, and natural landscapes, promoting a keen eye on the relationship between city and sea.

PODCAST & PETRÓLEO CONFERENCE, PORTO DESIGN BIENNALE 2023
Cycle of debates that revisits the discontinued board game “Petróleo” to problematise the process of dismantling and decontaminating the land of the Matosinhos refinery. For the event, a new board and pieces of “Petróleo” have been produced so that, alongside the game, the legacy and challenges of the oil refinery. Could be discussed. The event resulted in these podcasts.
