REFINERY BOARD is an interdisciplinary research, observation and debate platform that focuses on both new and old imaginaries of the Matosinhos Refinery, in Leça da Palmeira. The refinery has been a transformative element of the territory, of the economy, and its materials, and is once again an indicator of the significant changes towards decarbonization that society is committed to making. Decontamination, dismantling, and regeneration are the themes that heat up the site of fuels again, which will fuel the debates and inspire ongoing research*.
